Above and Below - a box from the Reuters arrived yesterday, with activity books for the kids and "harry potter" glasses, both of which were a huge hit! The 3 year olds are working now on buttoning, snapping and tying. And they think they look fantastic in their "dorky" glasses.
Look who's sitting! This is the little boy who was so sick back in December. Now he is doing so well and reaching his milestones. 8 months last Friday! He is such a cutie and he knows he has me wrapped around his little finger. When I come into the lounge (the babies are usually on a carpet in the middle) he will turn in a circle until he is facing where I am sitting. Then he tries the cute face. If the cute face doesn't work, then he does his "I'm really pitiful" cry, which is almost a guarantee to result in him being picked up.
This was also a month of birthdays, although it's nothing compared to July when we have 6 at the house! Above is turning 2 - those of you who have met this girl know how hard it is to get a smiling pictures, so you must forgive the indirect shot. She did very well, considering how much she dislikes strangers, since her party was thrown by a group of local high school students. We only had 2 meltdown moments in 3 hours!
Below is Aggie's daughter turning 8 - she is a big Hannah Montana fan. They are learning to tell time at school, so I got her a watch and she is so proud of it now!
June has really been quite an eventful month - we've done lots of running around and our cars keep breaking, so it has been a bit of a juggling act. However, my Corolla went in for a service yesterday and our ministry car is in for one today, and Aggie's car is at the shop hopefully getting fixed, so we are praying that we will be able to have 3 functional cars for July!
I'm looking forward to July - the kids are on school holidays, which is good and bad. Bad, for reasons that will be apparent to any mother - there are going to be 13 kids at the house all day long! Good, because Aggie and I are going to work out a schedule and really try to do fun things with them in the next few weeks. Also, for the 4th we are having a party at one of our volunteer's houses, and then I'm hopefully going to a comedy dinner with one of my friends. The best thing about next month though, is that I'm only working 2 nightshifts!! Cheryl has given me a reduced hours schedule so I can spend more time working on the kids' scrapbooks and also taking them out during the break.
Reason Number 1 - the littlest monster. I swear this child's lungs must make up at least half of his body weight! He is 6 wks old, but man, this child can cry! He is also by far the noisiest kid I've ever met. Even when he is sleeping he is constantly grunting and shifting position. And, Auntie Aggie spoils him rotten, so if he is awake and you aren't holding him, look out! That's why we dress him in the teddy bear outfit above - he is easier to find adorable when he is wearing ears!
