Back in Africa

Yay! I finally made it back home. After a 2 hour delay at Denver, and a lovely 5 hour layover being pampered at Heathrow (flying business class due to using airmiles) I finally got to OR Tambo International Airport where Sharon picked me up. I spent the first few days getting back on my feet and unpacking all of my stuff into my lovely new room (photos coming soon). By Monday I was back in action and dealing with social workers, taking kids to appointments, etc. It is great to be back, even if my stress levels have risen again.

Seeing the kids again was, of course, the highlight of being back. Vela and Athandile were thrilled to see me while Thabo was cross with me for the first 3 days for leaving for so long. The babies really had no idea what was going on but they are happy for an extra set of hands picking them up. Below are some photos with my new camera (yay!) of the kids when I got back.

The one sad thing since being back is that I had to take Tiffany back to the airport last monday :-( She finished up her 6 months and went home to work and enjoy America. We don't have anyone scheduled to come now until August, which means we are a little tight as far as the schedule is concerned. On the plus side though, I've turned Tiffany's room into a TV lounge :-)

The first few weeks of changing countries are always difficult as you re-adjust to your life, but it is good to be back and to have settled into our new house.
