Well, here we have it folks, another one in the series Tiffany has termed "My Kids are Sick!!" Just 3 weeks after Lego was discharged one of the Twins took me back to Coronation. They were both chesty when they arrived, but their docs said it was nothing to be worried about.
Not So! 3 days into his stay, "Twin B" developed a very bad cough and started struggling to breathe. We were referred to the casualty (ER) at Corrie, where he got stuck under this spaceman-type oxygen hood (above). We had some exciting moments with an angry father trying to punch our doctor in the face, and then were sent up to the admissions ward.
Happily, Lego's team of doctors was on intake again, which was a huge relief for me. No more explaining how I am related to the child, or being spoken to like a toddler. It was a such a blessing that made the day that little bit less stressful. "B" was diagnosed with Bronchialitis, but they were going to admit him and start anti-biotics because it was picked up while he was in hospital, and could be a sign of something more serious.
So far he's been in for 4 days. His breathing is much improved today, but when they tried taking him off the oxygen he went vaguely purple and his sats were low, so he is back on a low setting. Maybe we'll be home by thursday... we can only hope!On the plus side, we've been getting in at least 8 hours of bonding every day, and he is thoroughly spoiled!
